Malvina Palloj is an associate in the New York office of Brewer, Attorneys & Counselors.
She provides legal counsel across a broad range of litigation matters, including business torts, breach of contract, and fiduciary duty disputes. She represents individuals and businesses in complex commercial litigation, real estate contract disputes, quiet title actions, arbitration, and mediation. Her practice involves motions practice, appellate advocacy, and drafting briefs for the First and Second Departments of the New York Appellate Division as well as federal district courts.
Ms. Palloj's recent cases include vacating arbitration awards, defending businesses and employers in complex commercial litigation matters, securing favorable settlements in cases involving breach of contract, violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and New York labor laws, defending class action lawsuits, and pursuing legal malpractice. She also represents clients in vaccine injury claims before the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, advises on real estate transactions, and handles appeals in state and federal courts.
In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Palloj serves as an associate at Brewer Storefront PLLC, the firm's community service affiliate. She represents minority plaintiffs in challenging at-large election systems that violate Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act. In 2023, she played a key role in a voting rights case against Lewisville Independent School District, leading to the adoption of a new election system including single-member districts. She contributes to legal scholarship, including a Law360 article on voting rights. She also has served as a judge for the Brewer/NYU International Public Policy Forum (IPPF), a global high school debate competition.
Prior to law school, Ms. Palloj received a bachelor’s degree in political science and philosophy, with a minor in English, from Hofstra University in 2012. She also attended Hofstra University School of Continuing Education in the evening and received an ABA paralegal certificate in 2011.
Ms. Palloj earned her Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School in 2020 as an evening student and pursued her studies while working full-time as a paralegal. She gained hands-on legal experience at Weitz & Luxenberg P.C., Robins Kaplan LLP, and Susman Godfrey LLP in New York City, as well as other legal organizations. Ms. Palloj also worked as a law clerk at the Brooklyn Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project, Inc.
As a first-generation, low-income immigrant, Ms. Palloj overcame significant medical challenges, language barriers, and the complexities of adapting to the American culture after migrating from Albania. Her experiences drive her commitment to advocacy and pro bono legal work, particularly in immigration, real estate, disability, and education rights. She is dedicated to ensuring equal access to justice and empowering those facing systemic barriers.
